Click Book Now to RSVP for guaranteed entryOriginating in Oak Park Illinois in 2019, The Island of Misfit Toys were co-founded by Jay Harris and Tom Carraher. They both met at the School of Rock in Oak Park a year prior and soon discovered they had a similar interest in music and a desire to form a band. Sharing several glasses of wine and their respective playlists, they quickly realized they were on the same page. They definitely didnt want to be the Brown Eyed Girl band and work began on rounding out the lineup, quickly agreeing that fellow SOR alum Sarah Konsky would fit in perfectly on Keyboards. Tom reached out to native Oak Parker Jim Pittacora, formerly of The Crabs in the 80s, for drums. Long time friend and colossal talent, Christina DeCillo joined in late 2019 as back up singer and lead female vocalist. Current SOR member and Oak Park resident Gary Soumar joined the band on lead guitar in mid-2021. You can find The Island of Misfit Toys playing up and down The Veltway in Berwyn, IL and all through the Western Suburbs.
