Ann Marie is at the vanguard of today’s modern brand of sex-fueled and sultry R&B. Born Joann Marie Slater in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, the singer/songwriter grew up idolizing Aaliyah and infusing her late 90s sound throughout her work. Ann has surpassed one billion streams across DSPs, with two songs, “Secret (Ft. YK Osiris)” from her Tripolar 1 album and “Handle It” from Tripolar 2, recently certified Gold by the RIAA. After a successful run as a major label artist with Interscope Records, Ann sought a return to her independent roots with a focus on releasing music in her way – true to her own sound, in her own words, at her own pace.
