Waveland State Historic Site, also known as the Joseph Bryan House, in Lexington, Kentucky is the site of a Greek Revival home and 10 acres now maintained and operated as part of the Kentucky state park system. It was the home of the Joseph Bryan family and their descendants in the nineteenth century.
Six miles south of downtown Lexington stands one of Kentucky’s most dignified and gracious antebellum mansions. Completed in 1848 by Joseph Bryan ,grandnephew of Daniel Boone. The museum depicted Kentucky life from pioneer days through the Civil War. The house and grounds are open for tours, picnics and private and public events. Tours of the mansion are offered April - Oct 31. Hours are Wed - Sat, 10-4 and Sun 1-4 with tours on the hour. Tours October 1 - March 31 are by reservation only. Reservations taken for private teas, weddings and events. Teas are offered at 2 pm every Tuesday. Reservations required.are required. Call our site for details.
