Movie theater in Roanoke, Virginia Historic nonprofit theater showing new & vintage films, with midnight screenings & special events. Roanoke’s top movie palace opened its doors for the first time in March 26, 1932. Currently, The Grandin Theatre also serves as the historic, geographic and cultural anchor for the Grandin Road Commercial Historic District. Our goal is to preserve The Grandin as a cultural and educational resource devoted to film and the cinematic arts for Western Virginia.
