Fraternal organization in Eugene, Oregon. Sonja Lodge No. 38, Sons of Norway, was organized on October 2, 1937, with 53 charter members. The Lodge was named after Sonja Henie, the Norwegian Olympic gold medal ice skater and film star. Currently, Sonja Lodge has over 200 members. In 1941 the Sonja Daughters was organized. This group of women actively support Sonja Lodge through social events and fund raising. Their annual Bazaar in October features handcrafted items, demonstrations, baked goods, a split-pea soup luncheon and a Norwegian cultural display.
