Plaza de la Raza is the only multidisciplinary cultural arts and educational center dedicated to serving Eastside communities in Los Angeles. Founded in 1970 by prominent labor, business and civic leaders, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit offers affordable after-school, intergenerational arts education programs to nearly 5,000 children, teens and adults each year. Annually, Plaza presents more than 500 classes, which are taught quarterly by local artists and performers, and over 25,000 visitors attend its free cultural programs. Plaza’s small staff is supported by about 300 community volunteers.

CDD CLASSES: Free beginning-level arts recreation activities available to students (ages 5-18) who meet poverty, very low and low-income requirements and reside within designated areas set forth by the City of Los Angeles. Weekly classes include group instruction in various forms of dance, music, theatre and visual art.
