One of the striking things about “Mirror Moves” versus other dark dance parties was the location - I’m not sure if there is a better spot in Charlotte for a night like “Mirror Moves” than Petra’s. Decked out in syrupy velvet, with it’s speakeasy-esque vibe and Old Hollywood appeal, tucked away in Plaza-Midwood, just steps away from the Diamond for those after dancing diner munchies, Petra’s provides the perfect backdrop for “Mirror Moves” – Charlotte’s new hopefully-monthly patio dance party that’s sharply focused on the dark side of the 80′s (think bands like the Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode, INXS, etc). Petra’s patio has been entirely redesigned and the Southern charm of the outdoor garden paired with the inevitable city sounds of the street just outside the gate evokes a quaint feeling specific to Charlotte.
