Originally built as a movie house in 1931, the Palace is now known for its broad selection of entertainment from rock concerts to classical music, from comedians to kids programs, from theatrical events to community events. And yes, we still show classic movies on the big screen in addition to our more modern offerings! The Palace Theatre is an entertainment venue in downtown Albany, New York, located on the corner of Clinton Avenue and North Pearl Street. The theatre is operated by the Palace Performing Arts Center, Inc - a 501 non-profit organization.
