Performing arts center in Newark, New Jersey Newark Symphony Hall is a performing arts center located at 1020 Broad Street in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. Built in 1925, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. New Jersey's Most Historic Arts and Entertainment Venue. We have rental space available for weddings/receptions, comedy and fashion shows, dance classes and recitals, plays, art exhibits and much more! Original programming includes a year-round Children's Performing Arts Academy for boys and girls ages 6-13, a monthly 2nd Friday Soul Line Dance Party, an Arts on Stage series for emerging artists to showcase their talent without the burden of renting space and the When Praises Go Up! Gospel Showcase for the gospel community. Rooms include the Sarah Vaughan Concert Hall, Terrace Ballroom, Dance Studio, Newark Stage (Black Box Theater), The Studio and the Lobby of the Concert Hall.
