The Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Fund was started in 1985 by a small group of neighbors in the Mount Baker community. This year, the community will award approximately 15 scholarships to high school seniors who live or go to school in Mt. Baker and surrounding areas. The goal of this scholarship is to help deserving students achieve the dream of a higher education. We seek out and give highest consideration to young people who show financial need and academic promise, have overcome obstacles, have worked to improve their community, and might be overlooked by other, more traditional scholarships.
