Constructed in the early ‘80s, the now legendary la Kiva cave bar
and restaurant resides on approximately 15 acres of prime real
estate right on Hwy 170 at Terlingua Creek, at the center of
Terlingua, TX, a great desert vacation destination just outside of
Big Bend National Park.
la Kiva was the brainchild of Gilbert Felts, an irreverent and
eccentric Texan given to excess who passed away in 1989. This
sprawling bar has been owned by Gil’s nephew, Glenn Felts, since
1991. A party mecca for locals and a “must-see” for tourists, la
Kiva is where you’ll find great live music, cold beer, stout drinks
and award-winning barbeque, at the place GQ magazine calls
"the #1 most bizarre bar you must visit before
you die” ...
