Theatre in New York City, New York The A.R.T./New York Theatres opened in January 2017 as a way for A.R.T./New York to address the continued struggle for theatre companies to find affordable performance spaces in Manhattan. Our two performance venues are fully flexible—depending on the layout, the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre can seat up to 87 audience members and the Mezzanine Theatre can seat up to 149. Since opening, the A.R.T./New York Theatres have hosted more than two dozen theatrical productions featuring work from more than 650 artists and welcomed more than 32,000 audience members.
