Movie theater in St. Louis, Missouri Grand movie theater dating from 1922, showing new releases & classic films along with beer & wine. The Hi-Pointe Theatre is the oldest locally owned and continuously-operating arthouse theater in St. Louis. In 1977 the James family acquired the theater, and under their stewardship, the theater became an iconic St. Louis landmark. In Jan. 2023, the arts nonprofit, Cinema St. Louis, purchased the iconic movie house as a new permanent home for programming and to build out daily film programs to charm any film lover's appetite.
