The Grove City Nazarene was organized July 7, 1963. The first congregation met in Kingston Avenue Elementary School under the leadership of Rev. Dale Galloway. There were 21 charter members who joined that day. In the fall of 1963, the church constructed a chapel and educational wing on Columbus Street. Two years later, additional educational space was added.

In 1967, Wayne Sharpes became pastor of the church. Jerry Lambert followed in 1974. In August of 1979, a new sanctuary was completed, adding 6,772 square feet of space to the facility.

In 1980, Rev. Curtis Lewis, Jr. came to pastor at GCCN. Under his leadership, the church purchased property on Hoover Road with plans to relocate the church and build new facilities. Rev. Herbert Rogers served as pastor from 1983-1989. Rev. Rogers was instrumental in relocating the church from Columbus Street to Hoover Road. He oversaw the building of the new multipurpose building, which served as our worship center until 1998.
