In the heart of Georgetown, one of Washington D.C.'s oldest communities, the historic Evermay estate provides a rare glimpse of the elegance and beauty that once graced the Nation’s Capital. Built in 1801 for a prominent 18th century businessman and landowner, Evermay was designed by Nicholas King, the first surveyor of Washington, D.C., and the founder of the city's first library. Surrounded by acres of beautiful, well-landscaped lawns and gardens, Evermay’s impressive Federal-style architecture provides a constant reminder of its illustrious past, while its location overlooking the District of Columbia offers breathtaking views of Rock Creek Park and the Washington Monument.
