Animal shelter in Pennsylvania The Erie Humane Society's mission is to RESCUE, REHABILITATE, AND REHOME needy pets in our community. We are a local, independent, registered 501-c3 nonprofit, no-kill, fear-free animal shelter, and have been proudly serving the Erie community since 1892. We are pet adoption agency and also operate a non-profit pet wellness clinic. We also have the longest standing Animal Cruelty Department in the Erie region, 35 years, and employ two Humane Officers with a combined experience of 25 years.
