Venue Information

The Downs Cultural Enrichment Center is a beautiful 166-seat theater named by Alletta Laird in honor of her husband Robert N. Downs III, who led the campaign to build the Center. Our theater boasts a full stage and room-sized theatre screen with surround sound. It is an easily accessible, centrally located venue where residents of Ingleside and surrounding communities meet to enjoy special cultural, musical, social, and educational events. The public is invited to attend these programs FREE OF CHARGE. We provide an ideal platform for a remarkable variety of performing arts, the entertainment includes singers and musicians from diverse genres such as jazz, opera, gospel, classical, and oldies. Additionally, local area school performances, dance ensembles, choirs, religious services, live plays, cultural events and more are all part of the superb programming offered by the Downs Cultural Center.
