The CVUHSD Board of Education voted unanimously for Marisela Ruiz to fill the vacant seat for Trustee Area 1 in Lawndale. She will fill the position until the November 2017 election when the seat is up for reelection.

Marisela Ruiz is a lifelong member of the Lawndale community. Ms. Ruiz and her family are all Hawthorne High School alumni. She has worked her entire 19-year career in Lawndale and is currently a realtor at Casa Bella Properties, serving the Lawndale community. Ms. Ruiz is a member of the local Rotary Club and has volunteered her time fundraising for local schools and organizations. She currently has nieces and nephews at Hawthorne High School and is excited to be able to help ensure the best resources possible to them and continue increasing the success and betterment of all CVUHSD students. She looks forward to helping improve the district in her new position. CVUHSD takes great pleasure in welcoming Ms. Ruiz to the Board.
