Performing arts theater in Colorado The Aspen District Theater and Black Box are Aspen Colorado’s premier venue for community-based and professional performing arts and film. The venues are comprised of a state of the art 550 seat proscenium theater and 150 person flexible seating Black Box. The Aspen District Theater hosts all Aspen School District educational and performing arts events. Our local professional partners include Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Theater Aspen School, and Aspen Community Theater. The Aspen District Theater believes in equitable access and uses for all artists and patrons of our stages and venues.
