Fairground in Palmer, Alaska Welcome to the Alaska State Fair, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, home of an abundance of diverse vendors, food to please every palate, rides, concerts, acrobats, animals, exceptional educational exhibits, record-setting giant vegetables and beautiful flower gardens. Nestled in the heart of the Chugach Mountains, in the fertile Matanuska-Susitna Valley, the fairgrounds are just an hour north of Anchorage. Each fall, the Fair provides the perfect setting for Alaska’s last blast of summer, and is a showcase of Alaska’s uniqueness and beauty. The Alaska State Fair is a local, self-sustaining, non-profit corporation established in 1936.
