Because of Winn Dixie is a 2005 American comedy-drama film adapted from Kate DiCamillo’s first published novel, produced by Walden Media and released by 20th Century Fox. The story is all about a lonely young girl named, Opal, who has moved to a small town with her father, a preacher. Opal soon after adopts an orphaned dog, named Winn Dixie. The dog befriends everyone he encounters and therefore Opal makes new friends in the town as well.
